Orange Coast College, Science Building

Recalling their design for the college’s Business Education Building, Neutra and Alexander’s Science Building at Orange Coast College is arranged in a T-shaped complex. Here laboratories and classrooms are joined by a small planetarium. The design directs attention toward the unusual structure with a curving pool which echoed the lines of the planetarium. The buildings’ gabled roofs were partially concealed by the covered walkways with broad overhangs that extend across the site.
