Mr. and Mrs. Wong Yew House

As part of the Silver Lake Colony, Richard Neutra’s house for the Yew family directly faces Silver Lake. Stone is a dominant feature, including in the large travertine-clad fireplace separating the living room from the den and in the slate flooring. Off the master bedroom, a roof deck was outfitted with a dumbwaiter which could transport food from the kitchen when the family was entertaining. The kitchen itself enjoyed views of the lake through open selves and pass-throughs.
