Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. McSorley House

For the McSorely family, Richard Neutra created an efficient and inexpensive home which preserved the clean lines and high-quality craftsmanship of his other work. Substantial roof projections continue the line of the flat roof into the landscape. The crisp effect is also evident inside, where plumb walls, evenly applied plaster, and well-constructed and vigilantly positioned built-ins create strong contrasts. Accents in red and yellow add to spaces which are otherwise finished in white paint and birch woodwork.
