Holiday House

Located in Malibu, the Holiday House was a hotel and restaurant set along the water’s edge with views of the ocean and surrounding olive trees. The site is home to three groupings of accommodations. Within each group, a continuous fascia connects each unit while they are divided from one another with spur walls covered in climbing vines that permit privacy.  In addition to the eucalyptus plywood that was used for the spur walls, the units are composed of an array of materials including wood framing, redwood tongue-and-groove siding, asphalt tile floors, Roman brick fireplaces, and transparent white “Rippolite” plastic fencing.
