George and Pat Wise House

This project was designed for George and Pat Wise, a couple in their early 30s with three young boys. Their love for the Weihe House inspired them to commission Richard Neutra despite their initial hesitancy given cost constraints. Neutra maintained their budget and accommodated their requests, including building at the edge of the bluff on their lot which was more risky but allowed for views of the coastline and ocean near San Pedro. While the house is humble, the lush landscaping and the scene beyond it are majestic.
